A beautiful lake in the middle of lavender fields and incredible canyons
We talk about the Verdon province in France! How gorgeous… you drive through millions of vineyards and through adorable villages - one more beautiful than the other. And after appr 2 hrs you reach this beautiful lake: Lac
de Sainte Croix. It is particularly famous for its surrounding canyons - les gorges du Verdons. We finished our roadtrip by crossing big lavender fields to reach the little lake village Sainte-Croix-Du-Verdon. With undisturbed views over the lake and a village in great status we found a lovely little restaurant with panoramic lake view.
We have visited all the beautiful lakes of north Italy like Lake Como, Guarda and Maggiore. They are all fantastic but what makes Sainte-Croix unique is how undisturbed it is. Very much nature and not much built around it at all so you really have a chance to be close to nature. The lake also offers everything from canyoning tours, sailing boats and biking around the lake. Of course you can also dip Into the lake!
